"I wrote the original version of this song in high school when I found out that the guy I really liked was interested in someone else (I know, classic right?). I revised the song earlier this year, reflecting on the situation with more perspective. Now the song follows their story to completion and ends with a lot more hope.
I chose flowers because they are a way of honouring someone. I kind of imagined that this picture was me giving her flowers in congratulations—a true sign of support and letting go."
